CABRON
American Dreaming
pencil on paper (8.5"x11")
Cabron aka Alex Forster was born in 1975 in
Vienna, Austria. He went to the United States
when he was 19 years old and after years of
traveling in and out of the country decided to
settle in the San Juan Islands in WA state,
where he worked mainly as a seasonal
construction worker. Art has always been a
constant factor in an otherwise restless life
dictated by the "road".
In his late twenties he eventually matured
into a painter, when doing comics under a
tarp in the woods proved visually too small of
a medium to fully express the narrative
aspects of figurative art.
Cabron, being an old school cynic from
Vienna, firmly believes in the power of irony
and consciously decided to move to
Sacramento, the "city of gold", at the height of
recession and job scarcity in order to be a full
time artist.
He is currently working as a character
designer for an animated feature-length film.

People of my generation hardly realize, that
those long gone dreams and nightmares are
still a fundamental part of our collective
unconscious. Haunted like restless ghosts
they are desperately trying to break free and
find fulfillment. Often to our detriment
