Take part in the 2nd Annual Circus Show & Other Atrocities
Ladies and gentlemen… boys and girls… children of older ages… step right up and take part in the 2nd
annual “Circus Show & Other Atrocities” on the Second Saturday, September 13th, 2008.
A night of art in all its forms; two-dimensional, three-dimensional, painting, drawing, sculpture,
performance, music, song, and so much more! Last year’s event was attended by 800 people. This year
promises to have more. (And we’re moving it to a bigger venue – just across the street, so stay tuned.)
We’ve been honored to receive a grant for this year’s show from Culture & Animals Foundation to make it
a spectacular event.
Additionally, other local galleries, like Tangent Gallery, and Izzy's Mini VanGo Gallery are participating in
the event with circus-themed shows on the same night.
What does “atrocities” have to do with the circus you ask? Well, the circus is an exciting, magical place to
run away to – if you’re a human! That’s because humans have a choice to perform death-defying acts for
a roaring crowd while animals are forced into chains, cages and beatings to perform degrading tricks. And
that’s no fun! That’s why the 2nd annual Circus Show and Other Atrocities gives the animals a voice,
through the art and acts and donates part of the proceeds to animal charities, including Born Free USA.
And giving the circus animals a voice can be a whole lotta fun, as last year’s event can attest.
And remember, feel free to just show up dressed up – the more circus freaks the better!

“Ringling Train of Pain” clown car that winded through downtown handing out free “tickets”
for the show.
- Carnies for grunt work to help us set up and tear down the show.
